Menat

Today’s card is the Menat, the hieroglyph for joy. It is the hollow counter-weight worn on the heavy collar necklaces. It acts as a rattle because it is filled with chips of shells. The menat is sacred to both HetHer (Hathor) and Bastet, the cat goddess, because they both are worshiped by singing and dancing. The Menat is here to remind you that life is a dance. Just because the tune you are playing right now with your words and thoughts is slow does not mean that you have to be this way always. Pick up the pace! Dance, sing and laugh. Life is too short to spend it in sadness.
