Menat

Menat, hieroglyph for joy

Today’s card is the Menat, the counterweight worn to balance the heavy collar necklace worn by pharaoh, his wife, and the gods. This menat is a symbol of joy, expressed in music and dance, because it is hollow and has chips of seashell in it like a rattle. The Menat asks you about the dance that is your life. Are you in rhythm? Are you filled with joy and share it by dancing with others? It is never too late, nor is there so much sadness that a little dancing won’t cure.
